The 'Friends Of Mays Hill Cemetery' hold meetings at 1:00pm on the 3rd Saturday Bi-Monthly (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)

Location:  Jones Park Hall  -  Cnr. Landsdowne and Burnett Sts,   Parramatta.

Pastor, Baptist Church Parramatta

Carey.jpg (34251 bytes)William only had a short life, dying in 1852, aged only 23 years. He was first buried in the Devonshire Street Cemetery then removed to the Western Road Cemetery in 1900, when the former was resumed for Central Railway.
Carey was instrumental in establishing the Baptist Church in Parramatta.

"As a pastor & friend he was watchful, faithful & affectionate. As a preacher, simple, earnest, eloquent, as a Christian, meek, humble & confidingly reliant upon his Redeemer, living in his intercourse with the world as well as in his pulpit ministration, & he preached Christ.
Dying, his whole trust was in Him. His labours though brief were blessed & being dead he yet speaketh."
